Today is Monday 19 October, or 2 Kartik. Hamro Patro lists a Dashain holiday and Ashtami for the date. Maha Navami Vrata is listed for tomorrow, 20 October.

Navaratri honours nine forms of the goddess, but lunar dates do not always correspond one-for-one with civil calendar days. Counting the ninth date after Ghatasthapana alone is therefore insufficient to assign a festival name.

Families can continue their daily worship and prepare for tomorrow’s observance. Caring for Jamara, arranging visits with relatives and sharing household work are practical preparations. Consult a local Panchang or priest where the timing of a family ritual needs clarification.
