Today, Wednesday 21 October, or 4 Kartik, is Vijaya Dashami. Onlinekhabar’s recent report quoting Nepal’s calendar committee gives the auspicious Tika moment in Nepal as 10:26 a.m.

The same committee-attributed report lists Devi Visarjan at 8:49 a.m. and says the person receiving Tika should face west. These timings are for Nepal.

Vijaya Dashami brings the family tradition of receiving Tika, Jamara and blessings from elders. Customs differ between households. The Jamara grown since Ghatasthapana now accompanies those blessings, linking the festival’s opening and main family observance.

The instant corresponding to 10:26 a.m. in Nepal is 5:41 a.m. in Ireland on this date. This is a clock conversion, not an independently determined Irish ritual muhurat. Readers abroad should obtain local religious timing where needed and arrange family visits with consideration for elders.
